Why Amo?
"Amo," which means "I love" in Latin, is the motto of my Scott family clan and a guiding principle in both my life and work.
To me, it represents the deep compassion and empathy that is at the heart of psychotherapy.
Just as love promotes connection and understanding, I believe that genuine care, authenticity and acceptance are essential in the therapeutic process. Embracing this motto, I strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and grow towards greater self-awareness and healing.
Who am I?
My name is Kevin Scott. I am currently in my fourth and final year of psychotherapy training at ID Academy in Copenhagen. I am originally from Scotland but have lived in Denmark for nearly 25 years. I am married to Maria, and together we have twin daughters, who are now 20 years old.
My Journey
With over 25 years of experience in management, coaching, and personal development, I have gained a deep understanding of both the emotional and practical challenges people may face. I hold a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Human Resource Management, and an MBA /Masters in Business Administration, and I plan to be certified as an ID Psychotherapist in October 2025. This background enables me to assist you with both personal and professional issues that may be holding you back.
My Therapeutic Approach
I aim to provide you, as a client, with the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings in a warm and non-judgmental space. My approach is client-centered and tailored to your individual needs, ensuring that we move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will work to create clarity, strength, and a greater sense of well-being. I can help you navigate through a wide range of life's challenges, such as stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, and more.
I offer therapy at a reduced rate as part of my training, and I also receive regular supervision.
